Accer Aspire 3810T

I’ve been tempted to purchase one of those cool, little netbooks but I’ve hesitated because my fingers don’t fit comfortably on the smallish keyboard and the screens are a bit more diminutive than I would like. In addition to these limitations, several of my friends who own netbooks complain about the limitations of the Atom processors that seem to be used in nearly all netbooks these days.
Recently, however, I found a laptop that provides many of the lightweight features of a netbook with the power of notebook. My Acer Aspire 3810T comes with the newest Intel Pentium processor that was designed to consume much less power and thus, last much longer between charges. Acer markets this laptop by saying it will go nine hours on a single charge. I guess that’s possible by adjusting all necessary settings to minimize energy consumption, but I’ve been consistently getting more than six hours per charge just operating my 3810T the way I normally operate any laptop.

My 3810T came with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, three GB of memory, a 320 MB hard drive, wireless N, integrated Crystal Eye webcam, and a 13.3 inch screen. Perhaps best of all, the whole package weighs just 1.6 kilo. It is a very thin laptop that looks a great deal like the Apple Air. This laptop lets me charge the unit at night while I’m home, and then use it all day without having to take the charger along. Thus, I have light-weight, all day laptop that gives me the most important features of a netbook with the power of a laptop.
